Sips and Strokes

Last night, the Pure Barre girls had a night out at Sips and Strokes along with a few others.  There were lots of fun giveaways provided by PB and SNS.

We painted a flower-filled vase, (if you will).  Jason said, "Why aren't the stems down in the vase?"  I told him that was the beauty behind the piece...that's how it was supposed to be!

The original painting had brighter colors.  However, I arrived a few minutes early, so Beth helped me come up with different colors to better match my kitchen.  I have red cabinets, so I wanted to tie in the painting to where I could put it above my kitchen table.  I like to switch out what I hang there...ask J:0

Here is my before and after shot of my painting and then of course a group shot!

lululemon

So, let's talk lululemon....

Have you heard of it?  Well my first time was when I took class at Pure Barre Birmingham.  They sell it at their location.  At first, I was hesitant, because I wasn't used to paying that much for workout clothes.  Then, we went to Denver for PB training and I went in an actual store....

Well, I tried on a pair of pants and all of the sudden I realized what the big HYPE was about.  They felt great and made me look slimmer, What more could you ask for?

Anywho, I also bought a tank.  I just love that I can wash this line and it doesn't fade or look dingy.  I'm not saying there is anything wrong with other workout clothing like Target, Old Navy, etc...because I have clothing from them also.  Bottom line is...if you are looking to invest in good, quality workout clothing, lululemon is where it's at:)

Lululemon Athletica

I hope you can all join us at Pure Barre Auburn on April 6th for a trunk show!  It will be from 3:30-6:30.  I'll post a reminder closer to time.

ME time

I must say, I am a very busy woman, but without children.  I'm basically responsible for my husband, my dog, and myself.  That takes up a lot of time.  However, many of you are mothers and are super busy!  I've heard from my Mom for years, it's not about "ME" anymore, it's about you, buying for you, not myself! haha.

With that said, I suggest checking this great place out.  I have had several people say, "It's so different than anything I've ever done before.  I like the way I feel when I leave.  I leave feeling a sense of relief.  It feels good!"

Try your first class for $10.00.  Let me know how YOU feel afterward:) Or if you have been already, feel free to comment how you felt!

P.S.  Check this MUST SEE video of Pure Barre: Bring your sweetie night:0
(sorry for the poor quality imaging... not sure how to fix this?)

V-Day at the Barre

Jason and I spent the weekend in Helen, GA with great friends, to celebrate Valentine's Day.

Therefore, last night we didn't do too much.  Well I mean in the sense of V-Day.  Instead, we did the latest thing in the Auburn/Opelika area...called Pure Barre.  It was "bring your sweetie to class day".

It was definitely a night full of laughter and something I will never forget.  Men tend to think that how we work out is easy, so it was a great way to show them what we really do.

As we entered the thigh strech, Jason said, "Ahhh, this is what I needed!"  haha

Here are a few photos...

Last but not least, I received these beautiful tulips from Hannah, a little girl in my classroom.  Aren't they beautiful??

Denver

Approximately 3 weeks ago, I along with 5 other Pure Barre trainees headed to Denver, Colorado.  It was my first time to visit there.  I have wanted to go there to snow ski in the past, but we just haven't had the chance yet.  Little did I know that my first opportunity to go would be for Pure Barre training.

We stayed in this adorable house.  Carrie, the founder of Pure Barre, once lived in this house.  Now it is used for trainees to stay in while they are there.  It's seriously less than a mile from the studio we trained at.

The PB staff left us little goodies. We got a new PB shirt and red polish!

This is basically what our schedule consisted of:

  • Wake up
  • Eat breakfast
  • Take a Pure Barre Class and/or observe a class
  • Study and practice our section for the day
  • Go to lunch
  • Round robins
  • Dinner
  • Study, chit-chat, and watch tv
  • Sleep
Out for dinner:)

We fit a lot of information into our brains in a total of 4 days.  I am a teacher by profession, but to 5 and 6 year olds...not adults who are there to lift, tone, and burn.  I am so glad to have been introduced to such a wonderful technique, called Pure Barre.  My two dear friends, Courtney and Kelly, introduced this to me several months ago and I fell in love with it.  I honestly can't believe I am doing it.  This was definitely a challenge for me.  I've always loved the idea of teaching an exercise class, but never thought it would happen.  I'm so happy that I have this opportunity.

I taught my first class last night at the studio and loved it.  I can't wait to keep perfecting myself and building more confidence as an instructor.

While on our trip, we drove around in this:

Gotta love it!  We named her "Betty Blue".  She survived the rather hazardous "icy/snow" conditions that hit Denver on Sunday, the last day we were there.  We made it to the airport, with a slight delay, and were the last flight from Denver to Atlanta that evening.  I've never been through the "de-icing" of a plane before.  It was pretty cool to me, but I love to fly.  I'm like a little kid:)

Those of you who know me well, I was watching the weather channel a good bit on our flight back.  I knew we were heading into icy conditions in ATL, but also knew we were in safe Hands.  We made it back safely, but Kelly and Courtney's father thought it was best to pick us up and carry us to their house until morning.

Fortunately, their parents lived there and were able to take us in for a couple of days.  We couldn't leave!  The roads were so bad.  We were sad, because of not going to the actual GAME, we thought we would at least be able to roll Toomer's afterward.  That was okay though.  We had a warm place, great meals, nice fellowship, and we made it back on Tuesday.

While I was stuck in Atlanta, Jason was all over the country!

Stay tuned for his adventurous trip...

Pure Barre

We took a little road trip today to Homewood, Alabama to take a Pure Barre class.  I leave for training soon and this really helped.  I've been doing Pure Barre dvds at home, but it's just not the same as the actual class.  It was amazing!  I must say the hardest part was the thigh work.  AHHH...it burns:)

If you haven't done so already, visit Pure Barre Auburn on Facebook.  Click on the logo and it will take you there.

I can't wait to begin this new journey on January 24, 2011 when Pure Barre Auburn opens.  Be sure to sign up to receive e-mails about the grand opening and specials that will be offered.
