An Old Window

As many of you know, Jason and I bought an older home that was renovated in 2005 and I have been eying this old window that was in my attic ever since.  I knew I wanted to do something with it, I just wasn't sure what.  I thought of having someone paint it and use it outside or use it as a picture frame.  Since I'm not that creative or confident when it comes to creating or experiencing with something crafty, I waited a long time to decide on just what it was I wanted to do with the old window.

Mom had given me six 8x10 photos from my wedding and bridal session for Christmas this past year.  That helped me make my decision, but I still struggled with just how I was going to accomplish this task.  I finally made my mind up a couple of weeks ago.  I didn't want to go out and buy $40.00 frames to put each photo in, so I decided to just do it!

It was hard to take this picture without having the flash show...I tried to take it from a few different angles.

I went to Hobby Lobby and found cheap scrapbook paper, but first I had to call my dear, crafty friend to make sure she thought it would look alright.  She suggested finding paper that had colors similar to the room I was putting it in and I did just that.  This was a very inexpensive route to go instead of buying a matte for each pane.  Of course, the following weekend ol' Daddy-o came to visit and boy did I put him to work.  Not only on this project, but a few others:) haha.  He's just awesome!  It actually ended up taking him about 2 hours to turn my old window into a picture frame.  I was so happy that he completed my project for me.  It turned out so pretty...I just love it!
