Little Learner's Lounge
Have you ever found something that inspired you so much you had to share it? Well, I have. I have been following this blog for a while now. It's one of my favorite blogs to go to for ideas in the classroom. This previous teacher and now stay at home mom has just made me want to one day stay at home with my kids and teach about 2 or 3 more out of my home! I hope to be as dedicated as she is. As of now, I do not have children, so I take the ideas to the classroom. But how dedicated she is to her child...and how smart that little rascal is going to be by the time she goes to Kindergarten. Check her out here!

"Time flies when you're having fun"
I cannot believe it has been a whole year since I began my journey as a first year Kindergarten teacher. I wanted to share a few pictures from these last few days of school. This Wednesday will be my kids official last day. They, along with their parents, are absolutely amazing!

I arranged for my kids to have a graduation ceremony, even though our school doesn't actually have one. Since it was very informal, I had the kids dress up as what they want to be when they grow up. They loved it! We started off the presentation with the kids telling their name, favorite thing about this year, and what they wanted to be when they grew up. Following, they sang a couple of songs. One of my room moms put together a slideshow of pictures of the entire year. It was so special for me to have this being my first year:) They really spoil me!!

I am so sad to see this year come to an end. I have learned many things this year. I cannot wait to implement my new ideas this next year! Here is the blog that I love to visit for ideas and more. You can also find other teaching blogs on this site: http://kpoindexter.wordpress.com. Enjoy:)

Lions, and tigers, and bears! Oh, my!
How wonderful it is to influence, teach, share the world, and go on field trips with 5 and 6 year olds. On Wednesday, the Kindergarten classes took their final field trip for the year. Unlike Tuesday with flooding rain, we could have not asked for a more beautiful day. We went to the Montgomery Zoo. I had not been to this zoo before, so I was very excited to go. Unfortunately, I did not get to take many pictures, or explore like I had wanted. I had to play the role of the TEACHER:) I had many duties to attend to! I did have time for a quick train ride through the zoo at the very beginning, but then on to reserving tables for the children to eat lunch. Here are a few pictures. Enjoy!
