Christmas 2010: The St. Clairs

I love that Jason's family continues the same traditions that they always have even now that we are married.
  • His dad reads the true meaning of Christmas from the bible on Jason's bed on Christmas eve.
  • His parents still take a picture of Jason and his brother walking down the hall to look what Santa brought.
  • They open presents and have Christmas breakfast.
My family has traditions, but we didn't do these specific things.  It's fun to hear or read about other people's traditions to help us decide what we want to do as a family one day.

Guess what??  This year was an extra special Christmas.  Why?  God gave us a "WHITE Christmas".  We couldn't believe it.  This is what it looked like before gifts and breakfast:

And this is what it looked like afterward.

I was not prepared  to know what setting to put my camera on for snow!

We got a devotion from his parents.  They always give us a devotion book as a couple and an ornament for our tree.

Sorry, Mrs. Jeana. I just love this picture because it shows how truly happy you are!!

The gang with our stockings.  I'm so blessed to have married into such a wonderful family.  Love y'all

(P.S.  Something happened to my posts.  They were scheduled in order and are not.  I apologize.  It may be because it was really late last night!)

Christmas 2010: The Walkers

Did anyone ever tell you it's hard to arrange holiday plans when you get married, get engaged, have a baby, etc?  Luckily, Jason and I are from the same town and things aren't too complicated so far.  However, this year we opened gifts with my family on Thursday night due to other family gatherings.

It was really late....but,

It's a tradition for my brother and I to wake up in the middle of the night to see what Santa brought anyways, so we still just open presents at night even as adults!
Scary, I know.  Jason interrupted my "hooting" to take a picture.  Santa brought this adorable towel.  I have an obsession with birds and owls this year.  Check out my bird decor.  I also used owls on my Christmas tree this year.

Rhett got a baseball signed by Tim Hudson.  From: me

My beautiful Mom.

Daddy-o!  This is his happy spot.  He is either on the computer or watching t.v.  He's content:)

The couple of the year...as I have kidded with them.  Last year, it was mine and Jason's turn.  We got all the money, the china, the gifts as a couple, etc...This year, Rhett and Jessica will get married in May, so it's their turn.  I'm so happy for them even though I give them a hard time, haha!

Jason's surprise from my dad, a DeWalt drill?  I think!  He loves tools:0

Santa brought us a candle....

Neena and Papa

On Christmas eve, we always spend time with my Neena and Papa.  Now that I'm married, we go up earlier that day because of having to go to Jason's family that night.

We are the only grandchildren on my Mom's side of the family, so it's a lot of fun now that we have my husband and Rhett's fiancĂ©e to join us.  It makes our little family complete:)

Papa, opening his gifts

A picture of Uncle Greg.  He lives in New Jersey and normally visits after Christmas.  We missed you!

My Neena can't stand for her picture to be taken...

Jason finally captured this one.  She had been sick the day before, but she still looks beautiful:)

My crazy brother acting like he was singing and playing the piano to Jessica.

He's so funny!

Meet Pheobe.  This is my grandparent's chihuahua.  I don't know what they ever did without her.

***Snow***

We created a snowman and snow angels on Christmas morning.  Check them out!

Boys will be boys...snowball fights, of course.  They wouldn't stop hitting me!
Jody and Shanna...great picture!

And...I finally got him back:)

WAR EAGLE!!

I can't wait until the game....and WE WIN!

Dees and St. Clair Landscaping

Jason and Mr. Bobby hosted their 2nd Annual Christmas party this past month.  Unfortunately with our house tour, they didn't get to throw the big bash that they typically do.  They invited a small crowd and it was just perfect!
Mr. Bobby and Jason
(also notice the cute Auburn tree)

Mr. Bobby's bird tree
Mr. Bobby's "miniature" tree.  He started this a couple of years ago and now it's a tradition for him:)
What an awesome year they have experienced.  Their business has expanded so much this past year.  I'm so proud of them!  I hope 2011 brings them even more blessings:)

A Christmas shower

Jessica, my future sister-in-law, had her first wedding shower in December.  It was a Christmas shower.  I was so excited the timing fell where she could have this shower.  It was definitely one of my favorites.  You don't realize how much it takes to fill your house with holiday decor until you go to do it that first year!  She was blessed to receive a variety of gifts.  She won't have a problem decorating their house for Christmas next year.  She is just beautiful...look at her.  Our family is truly blessed.  I can't wait until May 28, 2011.

The bride-to-be

My mom and Jessica's mom being silly!

Jason and I gave she and Rhett Willow House stockings.  I had them monogrammed and just love them!

This is probably my favorite gift she received.  It's a beverage server in the shape of a package for hot or cold drinks.  It came from Sam's Club and I think it's just awesome!

(Warning...several more Christmas posts to come....I'm behind!)

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

A cookie social

Last week, my Sunday School class girls enjoyed a night of decorating cookies!

 Sweet sisters:)
Doing what we do best, talking...
 I am so serious.
 My dear friend, Abby

Here are 2 of my creations but...

Here is the winner!  I have drawn so many snowmen at school for my kiddos the past couple of weeks, that this was pretty easy to create:)

Holiday Fun!

Having a lot of time off during the holiday is one of the many perks of being a teacher.  I love having the freedom to do whatever I want during Christmas break. Tonight, I took these two kiddos to eat at McCallister's Deli and to play with Weagle.

Thank you boys for a special night.  Merry Christmas!!
